How we announced:

I've been wanting to join the blog scene for quite some time but I hadn't found the right motivation yet. I finally found my motivation.

I have been seeing a doctor for infertility for over a year and a half. I have experienced many medical treatments (including oral meds, basal body temperature, ovulation kits, stimulation shots, HCG shot, and Intra Uterine Insemination). I have two wonderful friends who also went through this before me. Without their support and their willingness to answer my questions, I don’t know how I would have survived.
But the good news is that it finally worked. All it takes is one egg and that is all we had. I didn't believe the results of the pregnancy test because the line was so faint. I had been through too much to let my hopes get too high. I was still in disbelief when the nurse confirmed the pregnancy. It wasn't until we saw the heartbeat for the first time that I was convinced. How amazing!
Benjamin and I are very excited as are our respective families. Denali said that she is so, so, so, so happy. We told the parents at about 8 weeks. I told them by creating a card and then scanning in the ultrasound picture. We sent it by email because I was too impatient to wait for snail mail.
Our due date should be around December 9th.
I celebrated the completion of the first trimester today, it feels comforting to pass this first milestone. So far I have been sick most nights and I feel tired all of the time. I almost fell asleep in class today while the students were working on their projects. I've thrown up a couple of times during class. I just told the students that I needed to get a drink of water and I deftly walked out of class.
I think that Shelly was the first person I told (besides Ben) because I was amazed by how close our due dates were. When I found out that she was expecting twins, I was nervous to go to my ultrasound. I also used letrozole. My chances were low for multiples because the ultrasounds prior to conception showed only one mature egg. We are very excited for our baby and feel blessed for the many ways in which the Lord has taken care of us in the past two years.
I want to thank everyone for their many prayers and fasts in our behalf. I want to thank my friends in the University ward for the support that they have given me. I especially want to thank those that comforted me during the hard times and who consoled me when I cried.
My students love to come up with names for my future children. So far most have been voted down by me (McLovin, Orangelo, etc.). My favorite name was Inspiration, so I decided to use this name for my blog. :)
