Zoo Trip

My friend Lynn and I finally found a time when both of us were available to go to the zoo. I think it took us a year. She has invited us several times.

Baby giraffe.

Ekephant show. The trainers showed us lots of fun things that the elephants have been trained to do. I loved how they were so expressive with their ears.

Fascinated by the pygmy hippo. We managed to be there during  feeding time. The keeper threw the lettuce into the middle of the pond and the hippo had to swim to get his food.

Their favorite animal was this ladybug that they found. They carried it around with them (sharing it "nicely") for at least an hour.

Preschool Graduation

Jenny made the cutest graduation caps. We had a cute ceremony and the girls received a certificate and got to eat lots of treats.

I love these girls. It was such a great year!

Preschool Field Trip to Constitution Square

We visited the site where Kentucky's first constitution was signed. Danville was originally slated to be the capital, but it was later moved to Frankfort.

Dramatic performers on the stage.

Learning about Ephraim McDowell.

The girls were well behaved during the "abbreviated" tour of the apothecary shop of Ephraim McDowell. He is famous  for performing the first successful ovarian surgery. He performed it in a makeshift bedroom in his own house. We toured the house and saw the room. We even saw some historic tools that were used in surgeries.

The nursery.

The apothecary shop.

Play date. Pony heaven.

Math at Church

She filled this page out unprompted and unaided.  Not too bad.

Impromptu picnic at the soccer field.

Alphabet Posters

We had fun, as teachers, finding the patterns for these alphabet posters all year this year. They turned out great and I love having them on my wall.
