Science

Daddy loves to take Abigail to the college and give her opportunities to be a 'scholar.' On this trip a biologist offered to show Abby some of the snakes. Apparently she was brave enough to hold it. This is a corn snake.

I would be much more willing to hold a turtle. Turtles I can handle. Abby still wants a turtle for Christmas. Not sure about that one.

This guy looks pretty cool.

The chicks were a hit as well. How sweet. I love her face in this picture.

On another day, I offered to take Abigail to the library after she got herself dressed. She did so and this is what she looked like. Silly girl. She got lots of smiles.

We Made a Fort

Denali planned a special family night where we learned about King Benjamin and how he built a tower to preach to the people. Just like the people built their tents and faced them towards the temple, we built a fort and faced it towards the "prophet." We each took turns reading scriptures and sharing messages that King Benjamin said, which we had found in the Book of Mormon.

Here we are, cozy in the fort.

Aprons

I've been wanting to make a flirty apron for a while. I bought fabric a while back and then never was able to get a pattern. This summer I found a pattern that I liked and I started sewing. It was from the Dating Divas and the tutorial can be found here: http://www.thedatingdivas.com/kristen/flirty-apron-tutorial/. It turned out great. I loved it so much that I wanted to make more. We had leftover fabric from the dresses that we made the girls for the wedding, so I offered to make aprons for the servers at the wedding. I ended up making five more aprons. I spent a lot of time folding pleats.

Somehow I ended up without one (which is totally fine with me) and now I am going to get to pick out some new fabric and make another one. :)
