Beautiful

The reason we went to Utah this year was to see my little sister and only single sibling get married.
I can't believe that there won't be any more weddings to bring us all together. It was fun seeing everyone and I wish that we could all live closer. I loved how Abigail got along with her cousins and really would love if we could all see each other more often.

I was fortunate to get to design the guest book for Karolyn's wedding. I made it online through a book-making company. That meant that I got to see ALL of the engagement photos ahead of time. Lucky me. These two did several different shoots and had lots of great photos to choose from. My biggest challenge was making the pictures small enough so that there was room around them for people to sign their names and to write their congratulations.

Here are some of my favorite photographs of these two.

I always wished I could be as pretty as my little sister. So gorgeous.

When I first saw these pictures, I cried for joy.

When we got to Utah, my little girl got to try on the veil. Ack! She looks so pretty, but Ack!

Open House

Karolyn had an open house the evening before her wedding. We had it at a park. She served milk and cookies and then had lots of yard games available for use. I was in charge of refilling the milk and cookies and spent the evening by the food. That was probably not a good idea. I got very sick and was sick all the next day. A virus? Too much butter and sugar? No one knows.

They had lots of different cookies and both chocolate and white milk. she bought lots of cute apothecary jars to serve the cookies in. The milk bottles were fun too.

Badminton.

I'm not familiar with this sport.

These two cousins had so much fun together. Here they were 'fishing' in the dirt.

They also made this. I hope no one wanted to actually play croquet.

I can't believe I don't have any more pictures of this night. It was a lot of fun and very casual.

Kimberly made signs, and by made, I mean meticulously etched beautiful lettering into these amazing signs.

We had balloons too.

Outside Fun!

Karolyn spent her free time giving rides.
Karolyn came to visit while we were all at Kyle's. We had fabulous food and spent lots of time in the backyard. We played this bowling type game that I don't remember the name of. I wasn't so horrible at it..... Kyle played with a baby on his shoulders and still won.

We also got out the sidewalk chalk.

I think Abigail got a hold of the camera her. See any family resemblance?

Once Abigail started feeling better, we took the girls to another splash pad. She is wearing the bathing suit that my sister Kristy made her. She liked that this toy sprayed water.

What a cutie!!!! Oh my goodness. I have the best nieces and nephews.

Kyle was a good uncle again and played with the girls as they enjoyed the water.

Here she is "flying" again.

Doesn't she have the most beautiful eyelashes???? I love this girl. So much!

Uncle Kyle and Family

We spent several days at my baby brother's house. He is such a fun uncle. He even let her bathe the super stinky dog. This poor dog is getting so old. She is sweet though. I'm glad that she can spend her last few years with Kyle. She's always been his dog.

Their home has a cute playroom downstairs. It is about three feet tall. I spent quite a few hours in that little room.

I love  that she is old enough to understand and play games. Here she is playing Crazy Eights with her dad.
I really enjoyed spending time with them. I rarely get to spend time with him and his family and I am so proud of all the do and of the life that they have created for themselves. It was a little crazy to see them all grown up with a house, a huge garden, a baby, and adult lives. I loved talking with them.

Amy was pretty creative with all of the zucchini from the garden. We had zucchini for every dinner and it was amazing. My favorite might have been the chocolate chocolate chip zucchini bread. Yum! I also loved the fresh preaches from their peach tree. Sometimes I wish our house had a better location so that we could grow a garden...then I remember that I have a black thumb and that it probably wouldn't work anyway. Sigh.

I also need to shout out to Amy for taking care of us even though Abby got a stomach bug. Although she was pretty good at not missing, Amy did have to clean up some. So sorry Amy. Luckily no one else got sick, except me, but I think I caught something different. I hate it when we get others sick during our vacations. Nobody will want us to visit anymore if we keep catching sicknesses on our trips.

I also need to thank my father and my brother for getting up at one a.m. when I requested their assistance. They administered to Abigail with anointed oil and gave her a priesthood blessing. She slept so much better after that.

Summer Fun

We went to a local splash pad. She enjoyed it but was sad that she didn't have any friends to play with. She moped quite a bit. I played on the fringes, but didn't let myself get soaked. I really just wanted to watch on the side, but she and her begging eyes coaxed me into playing with her.

This glass lizard offered hours of entertainment.

The whiteboards were fun too. Notice how she is still in the pony phase. She still loves playing with her ponies.

She asked me to write the text.

I was pretty impressed by her Princess Celestia.

More Family

She is such a good aunt. We loved getting to spend time with her.

We walked to the park, it was a long and hot walk. I got to carry the baby. Abby wanted to fly and pretend to be some kind of animal. Denali wanted to read her book. We stayed in the shade.

Little one didn't love the cold grass. I remember when Abby wore this outfit. So cute, fun memories.

Apparently grandpa is a jungle gym. She felt quite comfortable climbing all over him.

One of the trip highlights for her was riding (choking) the lawnmower while her uncle mowed the lawn and yes, she is wearing a firefighters hat.

Wish we could spend more time with this amazing child. She is so great!

Here we are unwrapping and counting the Reese's peanut cups that we then made into the most amazing peanut butter cookies. We made these ahead of time for the open house and froze them. There were few left over.
