Learning Never Stops

This next activity I found on Pinterest and it was so worth the  effort. http://www.momto2poshlildivas.com/2011/08/preschool-science-cool-ice-art-for.html. We followed her instructions pretty closely. I filled some water balloons with water. Then we measured their diameter and weighed them. We froze them over night and then measured and weighed them again. Then we removed the balloon and placed the ice in a tray. The girls poured salt of the ice and observed what happened. Then I gave them food coloring and they poured drops into the different rivets valleys in the ice crystal. This was fascinating. It was so fun that we did twice over the period of a week.

Ben's grandmother gave us this magnifying glass while we were there last time and it has been a great addition to our preschool. Everybody loves using it.
